 The Center for Energy Solutions and Applications

Eligibility Criteria   

To be eligible for assistance, free of charge, from The Center for Energy Solutions and Applications (Center), an applicant must meet the following two mandatory criteria:

1.   The prospective participant must be located in the state of Connecticut.

2.   The prospective participant must have less than 500 employees.

Additionally, the prospective participant must meet at least of one of the following criteria:

  • The prospective participant is classified in accordance with the SIC system of the Bureau of Census as belonging to a major industry group numbered 20 to 39, inclusive.
  • The prospective participant is engaged in research and development directly related to (1) manufacturing, (2) agriculture, or (3) aquaculture.
  • The prospective participant is engaged in the creation or development of a vineyard or winery.
  • The prospective participant is engaged in the significant servicing, overhauling, or rebuilding of machinery and equipment for industrial use.
  • The Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community development determined that the establishment of the auxiliary or operating unit will materially contribute to the economy of the state by creating or retaining jobs, exporting products or services beyond the state's boundaries, encouraging innovation in products or services, adding value to products or services, or otherwise supporting or enhancing existing activities that are important to the economy of the state.
